Hi there! I’m Rachel. I am a full-time artist who is currently based out of Austin, TX, by way of NYC and Los Angeles.  My work is wild and whimsical, and inspired by the natural world.

I was raised on a farm in rural Central Missouri, and hail from a long line of creative women. My Mother, a watercolor artist, began teaching me the fundamentals at a very young age. My Grandmother was a folk painter and taught me color theory..  and equally as important, her dairy farmer’s wife work ethic. Along with undergrad work at the University of Missouri, I received training in Contemporary Realist Portraiture at Studio Incamminati, in Philadelphia, PA and have participated in various artist residencies, including a painting residency in New Delhi, India.

I received my first break into the art and design world when I collaborated with Studio Collective Design to create over 200 pieces of original art for The Landsby hotel in Solvang, CA ( I am fortunate to have met collectors from all over the world, and my work lives in collections in London, Paris, Denmark, Dubai, and Japan. Some of my  most notable collectors include Hilary Duff, Mr. Brainwash, Stephen Baldwin, and Julia Roberts. I recently collaborated with Fabricut and S. Harris to create a wallpaper collection, which is available to the interior design trade on or purchased directly through my website.

Exploring new places and foreign lands is the air that fans the flame of my inspiration. In addition to capturing the local flora and fauna of the area, I am also heavily inspired by the color palettes, landscape, and patterns and explore these within my abstract collections.

Using watercolor, pigment inks and charcoal, I strive to capture the spirit of each place I visit with simple gestures and minimal strokes. There is a sense of whimsy and playfulness in my work.. undoubtedly because I have so much fun creating each and every piece.

Thank you so much for stopping by my website, please email me at if you have any questions at all.
