Hi there! I’m Rachel. I was raised on a farm in rural Central Missouri, and hail from a long line of creative women. My Mother, a watercolor artist, began teaching me the fundamentals at a very young age. My Grandmother was a folk painter and taught me color theory..  and equally as important, her dairy farmer’s wife work ethic. Along with undergrad work at the University of Missouri, I received training in Contemporary Realist Portraiture at Studio Incamminati, in Philadelphia, PA and have participated in various artist residencies, including a painting residency in New Delhi, India. 

I received my first break into the art and design world when I collaborated with Studio Collective Design to create over 200 pieces of original art for The Landsby hotel in Solvang, CA (thelandsby.com) I am fortunate to have met collectors from all over the world, and my work lives in collections in London, Paris, Denmark, Dubai, and Japan. Some of my  most notable collectors include Hilary Duff, Mr. Brainwash, Stephen Baldwin, and Julia Roberts. 

Using oil, acrylic, watercolor, pigment sticks and charcoal, I strive to capture the spirit of each subject I make. I have been painting animals for the last decade have recently starting painting portraits of people as well. I am excited to share more of this new work with you, so please check back often as I post new paintings here.
